Medina netters hand Albion first loss

Photos by Cheryl Wertman – Kristian Snyder posted a win at first singles to lead Medina to a key victory at Albion.

Avenging an earlier season loss (3-2 1/2), Medina downed host defending champion Albion 3 1/2-2 this afternoon to move into a tie for the Niagara-Orleans League tennis lead.

Medina and Albion are now both 9-1 while Akron is just a match off the pace at 7-2.

Straight set was at the first two singles spots by Kristian Snyder and Tristan Sanders led the way for Medina which also got a big straight set victory by the second doubles team of Nick Bogan-Ray Paull.

Holley 4, Alexander 1
Holley posted a key 4-1 victory over previously unbeaten defending champion Alexander this afternoon to jump into the thick of the Genesee Region League title race.

Alexander is now 7-1 and Holley 7-2.

Holley swept the three singles matches on victories by Brady Smith, Pablo Romero and Cameron Bennage.

The Hawks also got a come-from-behind three set victory by the second doubles team of Derek McArthur-Jake DeSimone.

Albion’s first doubles team of Matt Kovaleski and Emilie Barleben scored a straight set win.
