Lyndonville tops Holley spikers

Keeping the momentum after jumping out to a big first set lead, Lyndonville went on to defeat visiting Holley 25-13, 25-8, 25-14 this evening in a Genesee Region League volleyball match.

Hayley Wetherbee served up a long run of nine straight service points, four of which were aces, to quickly vault Lyndonville out to a 11-2 first set lead.

Cierra Riley upped the Lady Tigers advantage to 21-8 by serving up ponts 18-21, two of which were polished off by spiking kills by Morgan Hungerford.

Wetherbee capped off the first set by serving up aces for points 24 and 25.

Wetherbee had a total of seven aces on the night as Hungerford had six aces and nine kills, Riley three aces and four kills and Heather Mufford 15 assists.

Byron-Bergen 25-25-25, Medina 15-15-17
Emily Kams had 10 assists, Nicole Blount four digs, Jade Kenyon five digs and Jenna Carpenter three aces for Medina in a three set loss at Byron-Bergen in a non league match.
