Lyndonville, Albion, Roy-Hart score Midget ‘A’ wins

Frontrunning Lyndonville romped to a 16-9 victory over visiting Wheatfield/Cambria Thursday evening to improve to 5-1 in Lockport Midget ‘A’ League action.

In the other contests, Albion trimmed Lockport 6-4 to go to 4-2 and Roy-Hart rallied late to edge Akron 8-5 and improve to 5-3.

Ty Hrovat had a two-run double in the first inning and AJ Buckland a two-run triple in the third to highlight the attack for Lyndonville.

Eric Neace had a total of 4 hits for Lyndonville as Evan Milleville, Brandon Schoolcraft, Jacob Hoffee and Chris Scroger each added 2.

The loss drops Wheatfield/Cambria to 2-4.

Albion 6, Lockport 4

Albion built up as much as a 6-1 lead in route to notching the 6-4 win over Lockport which drops to 1-6.

Albion scored once in the second inning on a fielders choice play off the bat of Matt Howell following a double by Randy Eblacker and once in the third on an RBI single by Evan Pappalardo.

Howell later belted a two-run homer in the fifth and Pappalardo and Trey Hart tacked on RBI singles in the fifth.

Pappalardo and Eblacker both had 2 hits on the evening.

Austin Loyd allowed 3 hits and struck out 7 in six innings of work on the mound for Albion.

Albion next hosts Medina in a make-up doubleheader beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Barre Town Park.

Roy-Hart 8, Akron 5

Trailing 5-4, Roy-Hart rallied for four runs in the seventh inning on a two-run double by Brad Wilson and RBI singles by John O’Brien and Austin Heschke, to trim host Akron 8-5.

Earlier, Roy-Hart got a big three-run triple by Austin Walker in the first inning.

Heschke and Walker both had 2 hits.

Aaron Metz went the distance on the mound for Roy-Hart scattering 7 hits and striking out 5.

Akron slips to 2-2.
