Jr. Wilson 2, HoJack split twin bill

Jr. Wilson 2 and HoJack’s Bar and Grill split a pair of one run games Monday in Medina Women’s Softball League action.

In another contest, Orleans Vets downed Banes Plumbing/Banes Machine Shop 13-6.

HoJack took the opener 15-14 on a two-run home run by Coleene Wright in the seventh inning.

HoJack also had a big six run sixth inning sparked by consecutive singles by Trisha Tower, Brenda Conrad, Wright and Ali Boring.

Conrad and Wright both finished with three hits as Lori Baubie, Tower, Boring and Hope Cooper each had two.

Laura Valley, Nicki Dresser and Betsy Fox each had three hits for Jr. Wilson 2 as Julie Tette, Marie Brockway, Rachel Preston and Audrey Woodruff each added two.

Jr. Wilson 2 rebounded to gain a split by taking game two 10-9 scoring once in the seventh on a hit by Jenn Thom and an error.

Jr. Wilson 2, which trailed 7-1 after two innings, battled back into a 9-9 tie by scoring three runs in the fifth and one in the sixth on hits by Valley and Tette.

Fox had three hits in the game as Valley, Dresser and Tette each added two.

Tower had three hits for HoJack.

Orleans Vets took the lead for good against Banes by erupting for seven quick runs in the first inning on four hits and three walks.

Melissa Prince and Brie Dixon both had a total of three hits for Orleans Vets as Bridget Tower added two and Ashlee Salisbury a triple.

Robin Blaun had three hits, including a double, and Jen Masse two, including a double, for Banes.
