Holley grappler earns tourney honor

Holley’s Martin Beadle earned Most Outstanding Wrestler honors at the Pioneer Duals this weekend.

Beadle, who earned MOW honors for the second tourney in a row, went 6-0 on the weekend including three first period pins and a pair of technical fall wins.

Brandon Morrell, who went 4-2, and Austen Vroman, who was 3-0, also represented Holley on the All-Tounrament team.

Holley went 2-4 for the tourney which was won by Hilton (6-0).

Holley defeated Kenmore West 39-32 and Letchworth 40-36 but lost to Iroquois 58-15, West Seneca West 46-30, Pioneer 45-23 and Hilton 73-11.

Holley next visits rival Kendall Wednesday in a Genesee Region League match.

Orchard Park Tournament

Newfane successfully defended its Orchard Park Tournament title led by a quintet of individual champions including Jake Kubala, Zack Brown, Cyrus Simmons, Charlie Johnstone and Andrew Gelyon.
