Orleans and Genesee counties both don’t have any new confirmed cases of Covid-19 for the second consecutive day.

Both counties also aren’t reported any new recoveries from the coronavirus. Genesee doesn’t have anyone hospitalized with Covid-19, while seven Orleans Cunty residents are currently hospitalized with the virus, according to the Genesee and Orleans County Health Departments.

Orleans and Genesee counties both don’t have any new confirmed cases of Covid-19, according to the Genesee and Orleans County Health Departments.

Orleans has also had one more recovery in the community for 112 total, while Genesee has two more recoveries for 161 total.

Orleans County has suffered an additional death from Covid-19, bringing the county’s total to 54.

The latest death was a resident of the Orchard Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Medina, where 23 residents have now died from Covid-19.

“We are saddened to report the death of one of our county residents,” according to a statement from the Genesee & Orleans County Health Departments. “This person lived at the Orchard Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. We extend our deepest condolences to the family and friends of this individual during this very challenging time.

Orleans also has 2 new positive cases of Covid-19. The county has now had 266 residents test positive for the coronavirus.

One of the new positive individuals lives in Barre and the other lives at the Orchard Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.

One of the individuals is in the 20s and the other is in the 60s. Neither of the two new positive individuals were on mandatory quarantine prior to testing positive.

The county is reporting one more recovery from Covid-19, bringing that total to 111.

In Genesee County, there are 3 new positive cases of Covid-19, bringing the Genesee total to 224 cases.

Two of the new positive individuals reside in Batavia and the other lives in Le Roy.

One of the individuals is in the 20s, one is in their 40s and the other is in the 50s.

None of the new positive individuals were on mandatory quarantine prior to testing positive. Eight of previous community cases have recovered, bringing Genesee’s recoveries to 159.

Orleans County is reporting one additional death from Covid-19, bringing the total to 53 in the county. The  latest death is a resident of the Orchard Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Medina, where 22 residents have died from Covid-19.

For the second straight day, there are no new Covid-19 cases in the county, the Genesee and Orleans County Health Departments reported today.

The county has two more recoveries for 108 total in the community.

Genesee County has three new confirmed cases. All three are residents of Darien. One is younger than 20, and the other two are in their 40s.

All of the new positive individuals were on mandatory quarantine prior to testing positive.

Orleans County has suffered another death from Covid-19. The Genesee and Orleans County Health Departments reports today that the latest death was a resident of the Orchard Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Medina.

The county has now had 52 residents die from Covid-19, including 21 residents of Orchard Rehabilitation.

“We are saddened to report the death of one of our county residents,” the Health Departments said in a statement. “We extend our deepest condolences to the family and friends of this individual during this very challenging time.”

Orleans doesn’t have any new confirmed cases of Covid-19 to report. Ten people remain hospitalized from the county with Covid-19.

In Genesee County, there are two new cases, giving the county 218 total since mid-March.

One of the new positive individuals resides in Batavia and the other is from LeRoy. One of the individuals is less than 20 years old and the other is in the 40s.

The new positive individuals were not on mandatory quarantine prior to testing positive.

Genesee also has four more recoveries, bringing that total to 151. The county currently has one resident in the hospital with Covid-19.

Oak Orchard Health now offering Covid testing in Albion

Orleans County doesn’t have any new Covid-19 cases to report today, the Genesee and Orleans County Health Departments said this afternoon.

The county also has one new recovery for 108 total in the community. Thirteen residents are currently hospitalized with Covid-19.

In Genesee County, there are three new cases, giving Genesee 215 who have tested positive for Covid-19 during the pandemic.

Two of the new positive individuals reside in Batavia and one lives in Byron. Two of the individuals are in their 40s and one is in the 50s. None of the new positive people were on mandatory quarantine prior to testing positive.

Orleans County is reporting its 51^st death from Covid-19, a resident of the Orchard Rehabilitation & Nursing Center in Medina.

“We extend our deepest condolences to the family and friends during this very sad time,” according to a news release from the Genesee and Orleans County Health Departments.

Orchard Rehab & Nursing Center has now had 20 of its residents pass away from Covid-19.

The Health Departments also reported the county has three new confirmed cases of Covid-19, including two who are residents of Orchard. The other new case is a resident of Murray.

The 3 new positive cases of Covid-19 bring the total to 263 who have tested positive in the county.

One of the new positive cases is a person in the 50s, another person is in the 70s and the other positive case is in the 90s.

The new positive community case was not on mandatory quarantine prior to testing positive, according to the Health Departments.

The county has also had three more recoveries in the community to bring that total to 107. There are also 12 people hospitalized with Covid-19.

In Genesee County, there are 4 new positive cases of Covid-19 for 212 positive cases. Of the new cases, one lives in Batavia, one resides in Bethany, and one resides in Darien. One of the new positive cases is a resident of The Grand Rehabilitation and Nursing at Batavia.

One of the individuals is in the 20s, one is in the 50s, one is in the 70s, and the other is in the 80s. One of the new positive individuals was on mandatory quarantine prior to testing positive.

Genesee has two of the previous community positive cases have recovered and have been released from mandatory isolation. That brings the total recoveries in the community to 146.

In Genesee, one person is hospitalized with Covid-19.

There is one new confirmed case of Covid-19 in Orleans County, a person under age 20 from Murray, the Genesee and Orleans County Health Departments reported this afternoon. That person was on mandatory quarantine.

Orleans has now had 260 people test positive for Covid-19.

Orleans also had one more person recover from Covid-19, to bring the total recoveries in the community to 104.

There are 13 residents from Orleans County hospitalized with Covid-19.

In Genesee County, two people tested positive with Covid-19. They are both in the federal VA facility in Batavia. One is in the 60s and the other is in the 80s.

Genesee also is reporting one more recovery to bring that total to 144. No one in Genesee is currently hospitalized with Covid-19.

Orleans and Genesee counties both don’t have any new Covid-19 cases to report today. Orleans has had 259 people test positive for Covid-19, while Genesee has had 206 confirmed cases.

In Orleans, three more people form the community have recovered from the coronavirus, for 103 recoveries, the Genesee and Orleans County Health Departments reported this afternoon.

There are 12 people from Orleans County hospitalized with Covid-19, while no one from Genesee is currently hospitalized, the Health Departments said.

Orleans County is reporting one more death from Covid-19, a resident of Orchard Rehabilitation & Nursing Center in Medina.

“Our heartfelt condolences go to the family and friends of this individual during this very difficult time,” the Genesee and Orleans County Health Departments said in a statement.

The death reported today brings the total to 50 in the county who have died from Covid-19. Those deaths include 19 at Orchard Rehab and Nursing, 30 at The Villages of Orleans Health and Rehabilitation Center in Albion, and one resident of the community.

Orleans is also reporting three more confirmed cases of Covid-19 today, bringing the total to 259 who have tested positive for coronavirus in the county.

The new positive cases include people who reside in Ridgeway, Murray and Gaines. One of the individuals is in the 20s, another is in the 60s and the other is in the 70s.

One of the individuals was on mandatory quarantine prior to testing positive.

There are 15 residents from the county who are currently hospitalized with Covid-19.

In Genesee County, there are no new confirmed cases. Genesee has had one more resident recover from Covid-19, bringing that total to 143. Genesee doesn’t have any residents currently hospitalized from Covid-19.

Press Release, Orleans Community Health/Medina Memorial Hospital

MEDINA – Medina Memorial Hospital will continue to follow the CDC, CMS and State Regulations that were put in place on March 13th and continue to not allow visitors at Medina Memorial Hospital.

This restriction is to ensure the continued safety of our nursing home residents, patients and staff.

The same visitor exceptions will remain in place: Nursing staff and attending physicians will work with families who have special circumstances, such as a critically ill or injured family member, end-of-life situations, etc. on a case-by-case basis.

Orleans County reached a milestone today with the 100^th recovery of a community member from Covid-19.

The Genesee and Orleans County Health Departments reported today one new recovery from the community from Covid-19. That brings the total to 100.

The county also reported two more cases of Covid-19, for 256 people total who have tested positive for Covid-19. The two new cases are residents of Orchard Rehabilitation & Nursing Center in Medina, with one in the 30s and one in the 80s.

Of the 256 people who have tested positive for Covid-19, 106 are community residents, while 150 are residents of regulated facilities, including 89 at The Villages of Orleans Health and Rehabilitation Center in Albion, 55 at Orchard Rehabilitation and 6 at a state-owned group in Medina for people with disabilities.

The Health Departments also reports today that 13 county residents remain hospitalized with Covid-19.

In Genensee County, there are four new Covid-19 cases, for 206 total. The new cases include people who live in Alabama, Alexander, Batavia and Elba. One of the individuals is less than 20 years old, one individual is in the 20s, and two individuals are in their 30s.

The new positive cases were not on mandatory quarantine prior to testing positive.

Genesee also is reporting one more recovery from Covid-19, for 142 total. No one from Genesee is currently hospitalized with Covid-19.

The facility breakdown shows the total positive cases from facilities that have had a positive swab for Covid-19.

• Hospitals and group homes will be allowed to accept visitors at their discretion, while following guidelines including time-limited visits and requiring visitors to wear PPE and be subject to symptom and temperature checks.

• Phase 3 is open. With that in mind, everyone in Phase 3 should have developed and implemented their Business Safety Plan and have it in place prior to opening whether it be a business, house of worship, not-for-profit organization, etc.

You are responsible to have your plan and all necessary supplies in place prior to opening. You will not be submitting your plan, however it must be on the premises in the event of a state, local or safety inspection. Keep checking the New York Forward website for your industry/organization summary guidelines.

• Social gathering sizes: Per Governor Cuomo gatherings (groups, assembly, meeting, etc.) of 25 or less are permitted with social distancing and sanitization protocols in place through July 15. The Health Departments do not authorize or allow exemptions from the Governor’s orders. Press Release, Genesee and Orleans County Health Department

The Genesee and Orleans County Health Department is accepting applications from contractors to be included on a list of bidders for the Genesee-Orleans Lead Hazard Control and Healthy Homes Program.

The program is grant-funded and is concentrating on reducing lead-based paint hazards at properties in the City of Batavia and Village of Albion. However, properties must be located in one of the following census tracts: 36037950700, 36037950800, 36037951000, and 36073040700. Check your census tract by clicking here.

Contractors wishing to be included on the list are required to complete a Contractor Application.

There is no deadline for application submittal at this time. However, only those firms which appear on the program’s list of preapproved contractors, having submitted a completed application package and been successfully preapproved, will receive bid packages.

Contractors are required to be EPA Lead Abatement certified. Training can be arranged and paid for with program funds for firms/workers not currently certified.
