Hawks, Tigers to meet in Holley Tournament opener

HOLLEY – A local rivalry matchup will highlight the action Friday in the opening round of the Holley Holiday Tournament.

Lyndonville will take on the hosts Hawks at 7 p.m. following the 5:30 opener matching Oakfield-Aalbama against Northstar.

The consolation and championship games will be at 5:30 and 7 p.m. Saturday.

Holley is at 1-5 while Lyndonville is looking to snap a season opening five game losing streak.

One key Niagara-Orleans League boys basketball make-up game is scheduled for this evening Medina visits defending champion CSAT with the JV contest slated for 4 p.m.

Medina is at 1-1 in N-O action while CAST, which captured the title last year with a perfect 14-0 record, is at 2-0.

Medina has featured a balanced attack to date as Munjie Brown is averaging 12.8 points per game, Ben McPherson 10 and Jason Hellwig and Kevin Arnold 9.

Two N-O boys games on on tap for Friday as Albion (1-1) hosts Akron (0-1) and Barker (2-0) entertains Wilson (0-2).

N-O girls action Friday with have Albion (1-1) at Akron (1-1) and Barker (2-0) at Wilson (2-0) where first place will be on the line.

The Medina girls will host Global Concepts Charter at 5 p.m. Friday in a non league contest.
