Pulling away in the second quarter, No. 2 seed Eden defeated visiting No. 7 Medina 10-5 this afternoon in the quarterfinal round of the Section VI Class C lacrosse playoffs.

Medina did grab an 1-0 lead at the outset but Eden rallied back to take a 3-1 lead by the end of the period.

The Raiders then used another 3-1 scoring edge in the second period to open up a 6-2 half-time advantage.

“That second quarter was big,” said Medina Coach Gordy Luthart. “Our kids played hard and we had our opportunities but they are very good defensively and their goalie is very good.”

Eden led 8-3 after three quarters.

Jake Cotter had 2 goals for Medina which also got tallies from Tyler Valley and Mason Lewis. Cotter finishes the season with a team leading total of 53 goals while Valley has 32, Feltz 23 and Lewis 13.
