After a decade of playing on a make shift facility with very little seating and a small portable scoreboard, the Holley varsity football squad debuted on its new field this season complete with large bleachers and scoreboard.

Hawks senior running back/linebacker/kicker Corey Winter earned Genesee Region League All-Star honors.

Holley’s wrestling team continued to dominate on the mats as the Hawks captured the Genesee Region League title for the fourth year in a row and the 14th time in the last 17 years. The Hawks went on to finish second at the Section V Class BB Tournament.

Holley had two wrestlers, seniors Mike Silvis and Andrew Flanagan, qualify for the state championships.

Silvis won a Class BB title, placed second at the Section V championships and third at the state championships. Flanagan likewise won a Class BB title and then placed third at the Section V championship and fifth at the states.

In addition to Silvis and Flanagan, the Hawks also had Sam Beadle, Nick Winkley, Kevin Avery, Martin Beadle and Alan White earn Genesee Region League All-Star honors.

Holley boys varsity Coach Dan Orbaker, who has guided the Hawks for three decades, earned his milestone 400th career victory. The Hawks also had the trio of Tyler Chmylak, Gabe Mendoza and John Bower earn G-R All-Star honors.

The Holley girls soccer squad also had a trio of G-R All-Stars including Nicole Maurer, Claudia Passarell and Luca Fahmer.
