Busy week of tournaments on tap

Three basketball tournaments and one wrestling tourney will highlight the upcoming holiday week of area high school sports action.

The Albion girls will face the host school at 7:30 p.m. Monday in the opening round of the Wheatand-Chili Tournament. Northstar will take on Caledonia-Mumford in the other semi. The consolation and championship games are slated for Tuesday.

The Albion boys squad will face Batavia at 6:30 p.m. Monday in the consolation game of the Batavia Lions Club Tournament at Genesee Community College. Notre Dame will face University Prep of Rochester in the title contest.

The Holley boys basketball tournament will get underway on Friday. The opening round match ups will have Oakfield-Alabama vs. Webster Christian at 5:30 p.m. followed by Northstar vs. Holley at 7 p.m. The Hawks will be looking to avenge an earlier season 77-38 loss to Northstar in that contest. The consolation and championship games are scheduled for Saturday evening at 5:30 anf 7 p.m.

Non league basketball action this week will have Lyndonville hosting Holley in a doubleheader on Tuesday with the girls game at 5 p.m. and the boys contest at 6:30 p.m. The Medina boys will then visit Lew-Port at 2 p.m. on Friday.

On the wrestling mats, Holley will host the Hawks Varsity Duals on Tuesday beginning at 10 a.m.
