Barre improves to 5-0 in Midget League

Barre defeated Actives 10-4 and Sandstone 19-1 last week to improve to 5-0 in Albion Midget League action.

Alex Gibson had a two-run homer and Jacob Foote a two-run single for Barre in the win over Actives.

Gibson then had a grand slam home run and Liam Ward a homer in Barre’s win over Sandstone. Gibson and Ward both had 3 hits. Ward, Kyle Pappalardo and Xander Meakin shared in earning the win on the mound.

Sandstone earned a split on the week by downing Rotary 9-6.

Jake Hughson and Christian Doty both had key hits in the third inning for Sandstone.

Ryan Krenning had two doubles and Mike Brewer a two-run single for Rotary.

Sandstone also recently downed Holley 9-0 as Bailey Blanchard had a grand slam home run and Kyle Hughson and Rylend Callicutt two hits each.

Vets defeated Holley 6-3 as Thomas Furnanski and Xavier Cornick both hit solo home runs, Vinnie Molisani a two-run single and Torin Irvine two doubles and two RBIs. Maurice Taylor picked up the win on the mound.

Furmanski also hit a home run in Vets’ 9-3 loss to St. Mary’s.

In other games Carlton nipped St. Mary’s 11-10 and Rotary defeated Actives.
