Albion teams score two wins to open youth football season

Albion defeated host Oakfield/Elba 19-7 in the Mini Division and 14-0 in the Varsity Division Saturday to open the Niagara Orleans Football Association season.

Oakfield/Elba downed Albion 26-0 in the JV Division contest.

Albion next hosts Pembroke on Saturday.

Mini Divison

Amari Jones rushed for 147 yards, including touchdown carries of 31 and 1 yards, and also completed a 50 yard TD pass to Javon Jones to spark the Albion offense.

Shakarion Drisdom added an extra point run and Jacob Hughson 27 yards rushing.

On defense, Amari Jones made 10 tackles, Javon Jones and Sh’kwe Riley 7, Bryden McMurray 6 and Hughson 5.

JV Division

Jabari Johnson and Jahmeek Riley both made 7 tackles for Albion as Elijah Lloyd had 6 and Alex Gibson 5.

Varsity Division

Nate Moore rushed to 89 yards, including touchdown carries of 2 and 21 yards, to spearhead the Albion attack.

Thomas Furmanski added a two-point conversion pass to Kevin Hillman and Ugene Harrison had 29 yards rushing.

Defensively, Colton Howell made 10 tackles, Harrison, Isaiah Callicutt and James Denoncourt 6 and Dalton Wilkins, Hillman and Rylend Callicutt 5.
