Albion, Medina and Akron net N-O wins

Defending champion Albion blanked host Roy-Hart 5 1/2-0 this afternoon to go to 2-0 in Niagara-Orleans League tennis competition.The Purple Eagles were led by a trio of straight set wins in singles competition. Daniel Beam defeated Elliot Spitzer 6-1, 6-0; Josh Metzler blanked Connor Heiser 6-0, 6-0 and Dylan Bader shutout Angelina Ciarfella 6-0, 6-0.

Albion likewise posted straight set wins in the doubles matches as Matt Kovaleski and Emilie Barleben downed Rachel Hutter and Desree Taylor 6-1, 6-0; Matt Flanagan and Victor Benjovsky bested Ashton Moore and Samantha Koch 6-3, 6-1 and Owen Foos and Connor McQuillan defeated Shawn O’Grady and Caleb Reich 6-1, 6-1.

Medina 4 1/2, Wilson 1
Medina likewise improved to 2-0 by scoring a 4 1/2-1 victory at Wilson.

Kristian Snyder defeated Joe Hecko 6-1, 6-1 at first singles and Tristan Sanders downed Gabe Curcione 6-1, 6-3 at second singles to lead the way for Medina.

The Mustangs also swept the three doubles matches as Xion Baes and Michael Cardone defeated Kallie Olear and Kirsten Skobaj 7-5, 1-6, 7-5; Nick Bogan and Ray Paull downed Rebecca Connors and Marlow Recht 6-0, 6-1 and Brendan Harris and Charles Beach bested Allison Smith and Max Faery 6-4, 1-6, 6-2.

Wilson won the third singles match as Kyle Lyon defeated Kyla Leno 6-4, 6-0.

Akron 5 1/2, Barker 0
Singles wins by the trio of Ryan Meek, Nathan Chubb and Brandon Meek led Akron to a 5 1/2-0 victory over Barker.

Going to 2-0 on the young season, the Tigers also got wins by the doubles teams of Erica Papke-Jacob Meyer, Cameron Brooks-Morgan Wagner and Eliza Papke-Morgan Wdowka.
