Albion High graduate Jenn Knaak, who will be a junior this fall at St. John Fisher College, has been named a captain of the Cardinals softball team by her coaches and teammates.

Knaak, who started every game for the Cardinals this past spring in the outfield, hit .323 with eight doubles, two triples, one home run, 20 RBIs and 18 runs scored.

A five year varsity starter at Albion, she helped lead the Purple Eagles to four straight Niagara-Orleans League titles (2009-2012) and the team’s first ever sectional championship (2012). A two-time first team Niagara-Orleans All-League selection, she earned All-Western New York honors her senior year.

“Jenn set the bar for everyone else to compete at when she played,” said Albion Coach Gary Parisi. “She worked very hard for everything she achieved and deserves every bit of it. A pure leader and a great person, one of the best I have ever coached and taught. It doesn’t surprise me one bit her team voted her captain, not at all.”
