On Feb. 3, 2016, John J. Walsh Jr., 56, was arrested for Criminal Trespass 2nd, Petit Larceny and Aggravated Harassment 2nd, after he allegedly entered a victim’s house and took a gun magazine and personal items. Walsh was arraigned in Town of Ridgeway Court and released on his own recognizance. He is due back in court on Feb. 8.

On Jan. 22, 2016, Holley Police arrested Marciena A. Averhart, 29, for Endangering the Welfare of a Child and Obstruction of Governmental Administration 2nd Degree. Averhart was arraigned in Town of Murray Court and was released on her own recognizance. She was due back in court on Feb. 10.

 

On Jan. 22, 2016, Holley Police charged Amanda L. Golisano, 35, with Operation of a Motor Vehicle with Registration Suspended. Golisano was issued an appearance ticket for arraignment in Town of Murray Court on Feb. 15.

 

On Jan. 25, 2016, Holley Police charged Melenie A. Stanton, 37, with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle 3rd Degree and Operation of an Unregistered Motor Vehicle on the Highway. Stanton was issued an appearance ticket for arraignment in Town of Murray Court on March 14.

 

On Jan. 25, 2016, Holley Police charged Shantanette S. Warren, 29, with Operation of a Motor Vehicle with Registration Suspended and Operation of a Motor Vehicle without Insurance. Warren was issued an appearance ticket for arraignment in Town of Murray Court on Feb. 25.

 

On Jan. 26, 2016, Holley Police charged Thomas P. Donley, 27, with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle 3rd Degree and Operation of a Motor Vehicle with Obstructed View. Donley was issued an appearance ticket for arraignment in Town of Murray Court on Feb. 22.

 

On Jan. 26, 2016, Holley Police charged Amy M. Malone, 22, with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle 3rd Degree, Display of Forged Certificate Without Inspection, Operation of a Motor Vehicle Without Insurance, and Operation of a Motor Vehicle Without Inspection Certificate. Malone was issued appearance tickets for arraignment in Town of Murray Court on Feb. 22.

 

On Feb. 1, 2016, Holley Police charged Meghan Choate, 26, with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle 3rd Degree, Operation of a Motor Vehicle with Registration Suspended, and Operation of a Motor Vehicle without Insurance. Choate was issued appearance tickets for arraignment in Town of Murray Court on Feb. 22.

On Jan. 31, 2016, New York State Troopers arrested Jessica L. Gardner, 36, for Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated, Failure to Stop at a Stop Sign and Failure to Maintain Lane, after she was observed driving erratically on West Yates Center Road. Troopers detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage. Gardner failed the field tests for sobriety and was transported to SP Albion for processing, which revealed a BAC of .23%. She was issued traffic tickets returnable to the Town of Yates Court on Feb. 17.

 

On Jan. 31, 2016, New York State Troopers arrested Leslee F. Payne, 58, for Driving While Intoxicated, Moving from Lane Unsafely and Throwing Refuse on Highway, after he was observed throwing a cigarette from the driver’s side window of the vehicle. Troopers detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from the vehicle. Payne failed the field tests for sobriety and was transported to SP Albion for processing, which revealed a .15% BAC. Payne was issued traffic tickets and is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 29.

 

On Feb. 2, 2016, New York State Troopers arrested Mary L. Thompson, 67, for Petit Larceny after she stole personal items from Wal-Mart worth $5.00. Thompson passed all points of sale, exiting the store and driving away in a minivan. Medina police were able to locate Thompson and hold her until troopers arrived. She was issued an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Albion Court on Feb. 23.

On Jan. 30, 2016, New York State Troopers arrested Marjorie A. Steffen, 52, for Driving While Intoxicated, Speeding and Inadequate Tail Lamp, after she was stopped on State Route 104. Troopers detected the odor of an alcohol beverage emanating from the vehicle. Steffen refused the roadside breath screening and was transported to SP Albion for processing, which revealed a BAC of .09%. Steffen was issued tickets returnable to the Town of Gaines Court on Feb. 17.

Ryan M. Whiting, 31, was arrested for Welfare Fraud 5th, a Class A Misdemeanor. The New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation, in cooperation with the Orleans County Department of Social Services, reports Whiting received over $550.00 in public assistance benefits from July 1, 2014 to August 31, 2014. Whiting failed to report that he had returned to work and was receiving income. Whiting was issued an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Albion Court on Feb. 17, 2016.

 

Medina Police Department charged Joseph J. Newton, 29, on Jan. 19, 2016 with Petit Larceny. Newton was issued an appearance ticket and was scheduled to return Feb. 11 to Shelby Town Court.

 

Medina Police Department charged Lawrence A. Atkins, 38, on Jan. 20, 2016 with Petit Larceny. Atkins was issued an appearance ticket and was scheduled to return Feb. 1 to Ridgeway Town Court.

 

Medina Police Department charged Lawrence W. Miller, 23, on Jan. 24, 2016 with Criminal Mischief 4th Degree and Harassment 2nd Degree. Miller was issued an appearance ticket and was scheduled to return Feb. 22 to Ridgeway Town Court.

 

Medina Police Department charged Felipe Chavez, Jr., 30, on Jan. 26, 2016 with Criminal Mischief 3rd Degree. Chavez was arraigned and held on $10,000 bail, and was scheduled to return Feb. 1 to Ridgeway Town Court.

 

Medina Police Department charged Jennifer L. Luxon, 25, on Jan. 27, 2016 with Harassment 2nd Degree. Luxon was issued an appearance ticket and was scheduled to return Feb. 22 to Ridgeway Town Court.

 

Medina Police Department charged Jaron T. Thompson, 26, on Jan. 27, 2016 with Petit Larceny. Thompson was issued an appearance ticket and was scheduled to return Feb. 8 to Ridgeway Town Court.

On Jan. 21, 2016, at an undisclosed location, the Albion Police Department charged a 17-year-old male with Illegal Signal - From Parked Position, Operation of a Motor Vehicle without Inspection, Driving a Motor Vehicle without Proper License, Drinking Alcohol in a Motor Vehicle on the Highway, Unlawful Possession of Alcohol: Person Under 21, and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana.

 

On Jan. 21, 2016, at 224 S. Main St., Albion, the Albion Police Department charged Jerry L. Cheves Jr., 31, with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle 3rd Degree.

 

On Jan. 21, 2016, at 228 W. Academy St., Bldg. 18, Albion, the Albion Police Department charged Steven R. Bescherer, 35, with Act in Manner Injurious to a Child Less Than 17 Years of Age, and Harassment 2nd Degree: Physical Contact.

 

On Jan. 22, 2016, at 204 S. Main St., Albion, the Albion Police Department charged Dajon L. Humphrey, 30, with Failure to Use Headlights with Windshield Wipers, Operation of a Motor Vehicle by an Unlicensed Driver, and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle Third Degree.

 

On Jan. 25, 2016, at 136 S. Clinton St., Apt. A, Albion, the Albion Police Department charged Jerry Hyde, 52, with Criminal Mischief 3rd Degree.

 

On Jan. 25, 2016, at 2049 Eagle Harbor Road, Apt. 13, Waterport, the Albion Police Department arrested Matthew L. Wyant, 28, on the execution of a bench warrant.

 

On Jan. 26, 2016, at 909 S. Main St., Apt. 3, Albion, the Albion Police Department charged Laura J. Duffield, 39, with Police Officer Execute Warrant of Arrest.

The Orleans County Sheriff's Office charged an Albion man after a vehicle stop in the Town of Murray. On Jan. 25, 2016 at 6:24 a.m., Sgt D. Foeller observed a red 2001 Ford pickup truck traveling at 82 miles per hour eastbound on State Route 104 in the Town of Murray. Sgt. Foeller stopped the vehicle. Upon further investigation, Sgt. Foeller found that the operator had given his brother’s name in an attempt to defraud police from ascertaining his true identity. The operator was also found to be in possession of several hypodermic needles. Christopher M. Bescherer, 33, of Lattin Road, Albion was charged with Criminal Impersonation 2nd Degree, Possession of a Hypodermic Instrument, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle 3rd Degree, Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle (I.D. only), and Speeding in a 55 mph Zone. Bescherer was issued appearance tickets and released. He was scheduled to appear before the Town of Murray Court on Feb. 1, 2016.

 

On Jan. 21, 2016 at 12:48 p.m., a Hamlin man was arrested by the Orleans County Sheriff’s Office for Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs (Felony), and Failure to Keep Right. Brian M. Miller, 42, was traveling westbound on State Route 104 in the Town of Murray when he allegedly began tailgating a marked Orleans County Sheriff’s patrol vehicle operated by Deputy Sheriff Martin Stirk. Miller also began swerving over the center lane. Deputy Stirk effected a vehicle stop of Miller’s vehicle. Upon further investigation, Miller failed all standardized field sobriety tests. Miller was then transported to the Orleans County Sheriff’s Office, where he agreed to submit to an evaluation by Orleans County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. D. Foeller, a certified DRE (Drug Recognition Expert). Miller was arraigned by Town of Murray Justice Spada. He was remanded to the Orleans County Jail in lieu of $1500 cash bail. Deputy Stirk was assisted by Sgt. D. Covis.

 

On Dec. 18, 2015, Holley Police charged Daniel G. Osborne, 41, with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle 3rd Degree, and Inadequate Plate Lamp. He was issued appearance tickets for Murray Town Court scheduled for Jan. 7, 2016.

 

On Dec. 18, 2015, Holley Police arrested Dale R. Kennerknecht, 44, for Assault 3rd Degree with Intent to Cause Physical Injury, and Harassment 2nd Degree - Physical Contact. He was arraigned in Town of Murray Court and released on his own recognizance, and an order of Order of Protection was issued. He was set to return to court on Jan. 28, 2016. Kennerknecht was arrested again on Jan. 17, 2016 for Criminal Contempt 2nd Degree and Harassment 2nd Degree - Physical Contact. He was arraigned in front of Judge Spada in Town of Murray Court and taken to Orleans County Jail under $1000 cash bail. He was to return to court on Jan. 20, 2016.

 

On Dec. 29, 2015, Holley Police charged Tanya E. Austin, 30, with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle 3rd Degree, and Registered Plate Display Violation. She was issued appearance tickets for the Town of Murray Court scheduled for Jan. 25, 2016.

 

On Dec. 29, 2015, Holley Police charged Joylnn E. Lamphron, 35, with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle 3rd Degree, and Operation of a Motor Vehicle with Registration Suspended. She was issued two appearance tickets for the Town of Murray Court scheduled for Jan. 21, 2016.

 

On Dec. 29, 2015, Holley Police charged Brian A. Millard, 35, with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle in the 3rd Degree, and Windshield/Glass Tint Violation. He was issued appearance tickets to be arraigned at Town of Murray Court on Jan. 25, 2016.

 

On Dec. 31, 2015, Holley Police arrested Keith A. Lutes, 22, for Unlawful Possession of Marijuana. He was issued an appearance ticket to be arraigned at Town of Murray Court on Jan. 7, 2016.

 

On Jan. 1, 2016, Holley Police charged Scott E. Davis, 28, with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle 2nd Degree: 3/More Open Suspensions on 3/More Dates, Operation of a Motor Vehicle with Registration Suspended, Operation of a Motor Vehicle without Insurance, and Failure to Notify Change of Address. Davis was issued appearance tickets for arraignment at Town of Murray Court on Jan. 25, 2016.

 

On Jan. 1, 2016, Holley Police charged Rudy Jiminez-Perez, 23, with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle 3rd Degree, Operation of a Motor Vehicle by an Unlicensed Driver, and Windshield/Glass Tint Violation. Perez was issued appearance tickets for arraignment at Town of Murray Court on Jan. 28, 2016.

 

On Jan. 4, 2016, Holley Police charged Elliott S. Jenkins, 27, with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle. Jenkins was issued an appearance ticket for arraignment at Town of Murray Court on Feb. 18, 2016.

 

On Jan. 5, 2016, Holley Police charged Nancy J. Brandon, 37, with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle, and Operation of a Motor Vehicle without Inspection Certificate. Brandon was issued an appearance ticket for Feb. 18, 2016 at Town of Murray Court.

 

On Jan. 8, 2016, Holley Police arrested Andrea L. Chilton, 47, with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle: Alcohol Related, Aggravated Operation of a Motor Vehicle 2nd Degree: 3 or More Open Suspensions on 3 or More Dates, Operation of a Motor Vehicle by an Unlicensed Driver, and Driving the Wrong Way on a One-Way Street. Chilton was arraigned in Town of Murray Court. Bail was set for $500 and $2500 bond. Chilton was transported to Orleans County Jail. Chilton has a return court date of Feb. 10, 2016.

 

On Jan. 11, 2016, Holley Police charged Christopher P. Weller, 27, with Operation of a Motor Vehicle when License/Registration is Suspended: Article 7, Operation of a Motor Vehicle without Insurance, and Failure to Use Headlights with Windshield Wipers. Weller was issued appearance tickets for arraignment at Town of Murray Court on Jan. 21, 2016.

 

On Jan. 18, 2016, Holley Police charged Spencer R. Plummer, 23, with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle 3rd Degree, and Operation of a Motor Vehicle without Inspection Certificate. Plummer was issued appearance tickets for Murray Town Court on Feb. 18, 2016.

Orleans County 911 Center reported to State Troopers a car was in a ditch on Monroe Orleans County Line Road and Moscow Road on Jan. 20. The vehicle was buried up to all four doors in the snow. The operator, identified as Thomas J. Ballou, 63, was assisted with getting out of the vehicle.

Troopers immediately detected the strong odor of alcoholic beverage emitting from him. Ballou was unable to stand without assistance and could not perform any tests. He was transported to SP Albion which revealed a 0.33% BAC, over four times the legal limit. Ballou was transported to Unity Hospital for a precautionary evaluation.

Ballou was arrested for Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated, Failed to Use Designated Lane, Imprudent Speed, Failed to Stop at a Stop Sign and a Seatbelt Violation. He is scheduled to appear in Kendall Court on February 15, 2016.

Medina Police Department charged a 16-year-old on Jan. 8, 2016 with Aggravated Harassment. The youth was issued an appearance ticket and was scheduled to return Jan. 14 to Shelby Town Court.

 

Medina Police Department charged Shelby E. Weeks, 19, on Jan. 10, 2016 with Driving While Intoxicated; Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs; Refusal to Take Breath Test; Rear Side Windows Non-Transparent; Driver's View Obstructed; and Operating a Motor Vehicle After Consuming Alcohol Under Age 21. Weeks was issued an appearance ticket and was scheduled to return Jan. 25 to Ridgeway Town Court.

 

Medina Police Department charged Ann M. Schlegel, 38, on Jan. 13, 2016 with Petit Larceny. Schlegel was issued an appearance ticket and was scheduled to return Feb. 1 to Ridgeway Town Court.

 

Two people from Albion were arrested for damaging decorated Christmas trees in Lyndonville’s Veterans’ Park. Kole Moore, 21, and Mason Miller, 19, of Albion were charged on Jan. 11 with criminal mischief in fourth degree and violation of a village local law by being in the park after dark, destruction of vegetation, and consuming alcohol in a park, the village reported. Several of the trees in the park were allegedly tackled by Moore and Miller at about 4:30 a.m. on Dec. 10. They allegedly broke off branches, destroyed decorations and left the trees tilted. Moore and Miller are scheduled to appear in Yates Town Court on Jan. 20.

David P. Perry Jr., 42, was arrested on Jan. 11, 2016 for Offering to File False Statement 1st Degree, a class E felony, and Welfare Fraud 5th Degree. Perry is accused of receiving over $550 in SNAP benefits that he was not entitled to receive, due to a false application he filed from October 2015 to December 2015. Perry was issued an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Albion Court on January 26.

On Jan. 5, 2016, New York State Troopers arrested Daniel L. Arbia, 51, of Kent, for Unlawful Possession of Marijuana and numerous vehicle and traffic charges, including Leaving the Scene of a Personal Injury Accident, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 2nd Degree, both misdemeanors, Imprudent Speed, Drinking Alcohol in a Motor Vehicle on a Highway and No License, after a one car rollover accident on Sawyer Road. Arbia refused medical attention and was issued an appearance ticket and traffic tickets. He is scheduled to appear in Town of Carlton Court on Jan. 14.
