Medina Police Department charged Stacy M. Steverson, 25, of Batavia, on Aug. 4, 2016, with Unlawful Possession of Marijuana. Steverson was issued an appearance ticket returnable Sept. 12 to Ridgeway Town Court.

 

Medina Police Department charged Athena G. Coger, 24, of Medina, on Aug. 5, 2016, with Unlawful Possession of Marijuana. Coger was issued an appearance ticket returnable Sept. 1 to Shelby Town Court.

 

Medina Police Department charged Thomas R. Brown, 49, of Buffalo, on Aug. 7, 2016, with Burglary 2nd Degree and Criminal Contempt 2nd Degree. Brown was arraigned and held on $20,000 bail and was scheduled to return Sept. 1 to Shelby Town Court.

 

Medina Police Department charged Michael J. Stachewicz, 25, of Medina, on Aug. 14, 2016, with Menacing 2nd Degree; Criminal Nuisance 2nd Degree; Endangering the Welfare of a Child; Reckless Endangerment 2nd Degree; and Violation of Village Ordinance Possession and Discharge of Weapons Restricted. Stachewicz was arraigned and held on $500 bail and was scheduled to return Aug. 18 to Shelby Town Court.

On July 24, 2016, the Orleans County Sheriff's Office charged Nathan J. Gallagher, 34, of Holley, with Driving While Intoxicated (over .08 BAC), Moving from Lane Unsafely, and Failure to Keep Right. Gallagher was issued appearance tickets for Town of Murray Court and is scheduled to appear at a later date.

 

On Aug. 5, 2016, the Orleans County Sheriff's Office charged Michael Volkman, 37, of Byron, with Driving While Intoxicated (over .08 BAC), Consumption of Alcohol in a Motor Vehicle, Operating a Motor Vehicle while Using a Cell Phone, Following too Closely, and Speed Not Reasonable and Prudent, following a two car motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Eagle Harbor Road and State Route 31. Volkman was released on appearance tickets and is scheduled to appear in Town of Albion Court on Aug. 23.

Medina Police Department charged Katie L. Murphy, 26, of Williamsville, on July 31, 2016, with Unlawful Possession of Marijuana. Murphy was issued an appearance ticket and was scheduled to return Sept. 1 to Shelby Town Court.

 

Medina Police Department charged Jeremiah Baker, 19, of Albion, on Aug. 1, 2016, with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th Degree. Baker was issued an appearance ticket and was scheduled to return Aug. 8 to Ridgeway Town Court.

 

Medina Police Department charged Dexter L. Turner, 24, of Medina, on Aug. 5, 2016, with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th Degree and Menacing 2nd Degree. Turner was issued an appearance ticket and was scheduled to return Sept. 1, 2016, to Shelby Town Court.

 

Medina Police Department charged Matthew R. Wilkins, 33, of Middleport, on Aug. 4, 2016, with Criminal Contempt 2nd Degree and Harassment 2nd Degree. Wilkins was arraigned and released on $500 bail and is scheduled to return Sept. 1 to Shelby Town Court.

 

Medina Police Department charged Michael J. Stachewicz, 25, of Medina, on Aug. 6, 2016, with Unlawfully Dealing with a Child 1st Degree; Resisting Arrest; and Disorderly Conduct. Stachewicz was arraigned and held on $250 bail and was scheduled to return at a later date to Shelby Town Court.

 

Medina Police Department charged Brian S. Niemiec, 46, of Pennsylvania, on Aug. 6, 2016, with Unlawfully Dealing with a Child 1st Degree - Alcohol. Niemiec was arraigned and held on $100 bail and was scheduled to return at a later date to Shelby Town Court.

Medina Police Department charged Candido Candelaria III, 24, of Medina, on Aug. 9, 2016, with Driving While Intoxicated; Driving with .08 of 1% or More Blood Alcohol Content; Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated; two counts Unsafe Tires; Fail to Yield Right of Way to an Emergency Vehicle; Aggravated Unlicensed Operator; Unlicensed Operator; Equipment Violation: No/Inadequate Lights; and Drinking Alcohol in a Motor Vehicle. Candelaria was arraigned and released on his own recognizance and was scheduled to return Aug. 15 to Ridgeway Town Court.

 

Medina Police Department charged Samuel Gonzalez Jr., 26, of Medina, on Aug. 11, 2016, with Criminal Mischief 3rd Degree. Gonzalez was issued an appearance ticket and was scheduled to return Sept. 1 to Shelby Town Court.

On August 10, 2016, a Holley man was charged with Scheme to Defraud 1st Degree and Grand Larceny 4th Degree after a two-month investigation by the Orleans County Sheriff’s Office.

 

Earl F. Skellen, 69, allegedly had been deceiving the Holley VFW for several years into believing that he was a veteran of the Vietnam War. During the investigation, it was discovered that Skellen was not in the Vietnam War, nor did he serve in any branch of the military ever, the Orleans County Sheriff’s Office reported.

 

As a member of the Holley VFW, Skellen used his position of power to purchase a John Deere zero-turn lawn mower at a greatly reduced price of $500, when the value of the mower at the time of purchase was more than $2,000.

 

Skellen was arraigned by Town of Murray Justice Gary Passarell. Bail was set at $1,000. This investigation was conducted by Orleans County Sheriff’s Investigator Kenneth Strickland along with members of the Veterans Service Agency in Orleans County.

On July 27, 2016, the Orleans County Sheriff’s Office charged Billy J. Ray, 40, of Phipps Road, Albion, with violating an Order of Protection while incarcerated in the Orleans County Jail. Ray allegedly made phone calls from the jail between July 18 and July 24, 2016 to a protected person listed on an Order of Protection. He was arraigned by Town of Albion Justice Joseph Fuller. Bail was set at $100,000 and Ray will appear in Town of Albion Court at a later date for further proceedings.

Peter Jones, 21, of Medina, was charged with two counts of Possessing a Forged Instrument 1st Degree (C Felony).

Michael Burch, 18, of Medina, was charged with Possessing a Forged Instrument 1st Degree (C Felony).

Kyle Allport, 18, of Medina, was charged with Possessing a Forged Instrument 1st Degree (C Felony).

Sebastian Bonk, 24, of Medina, was charged with two counts of Possessing a Forged Instrument 1st Degree (C Felony) and Criminal Tampering with Physical Evidence (E Felony).

Medina Police Department charged a 17-year-old on July 3, 2016 with Criminal Mischief. The youth was arraigned and held on $1,000 bail and is scheduled to return July 8 to Ridgeway Town Court.

 

Medina Police Department charged Jakob M. Bishop, 18, of 122 W. Oak Orchard St., Medina, on July 5, 2016, with Criminal Trespass 2nd Degree. Bishop was arraigned and held on $500 bail and was scheduled to return July 11 to Ridgeway Town Court.

 

Medina Police Department charged Michael J. McKinney, 26, of 929 S. Main St., Medina, on July 7, 2016, with Criminal Contempt 2nd Degree and Criminal Trespass 2nd Degree. McKinney was arraigned and released on his own recognizance and was scheduled to return Aug. 4 to Shelby Town Court.

On June 10, 2016, Holley Police arrested Susan M. Devault, 46, of Holley, for Trespass and Petit Larceny. Devault was arraigned in front of Judge Theodore Spada and was held in Orleans County Jail in lieu of $1000 bail until her return to Murray Town Court on June 15, 2016.


On June 17, 2016, Holley Police arrested William B. Coley, 45, of Holley, for Menacing 3rd Degree. Coley was arraigned in front of Judge Theodore Spada and released on his own recognizance. He is set to return to Murray Town Court on July 20, 2016.

 

On June 22, 2016, Holley Police charged David S. Gaines, 48, with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle 3rd Degree. He was issued an appearance ticket for arraignment in Town of Murray Court on July 7, 2016, in front of Judge Theodore Spada.

 

On June 24, 2016, Holley Police arrested Christopher J. Campbell, 37, of East Bethany, N.Y., on an arrest warrant for failing to provide photo as a level 3 sex offender in the Village of Holley, and leaving the area without notifying of new address since October 2014. Batavia Police contacted Holley Police advising them that they had Campbell in custody. Campbell was turned over to the Holley Police at which time he was processed and arraigned in front of Judge Passarell at Town of Murray Court. Campbell was held on $500 bail and was set to return to Court on June 27 to answer that charge.

 

On June 29, 2016, Holley Police arrested Hamza M. Abdur-Rasheed, 21, of Medina, on an arrest warrant for Child Welfare Endangerment after jumping out the window and leaving small children unattended, and fleeing. Niagara County Jail contacted Holley Police stating it was releasing Hamza. Holley Police transported him from Niagara County Jail, and he was processed and arraigned in front of Judge Gary Passarell at Town of Murray Court. He was held on $500 cash bail or credit card. The return court date was July 13.

 

On June 30, 2016, Holley Police arrested Shane A. Collins, 31, of Holley for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance. He was arraigned in Town of Murray Court in front of Judge Theodore Spada and was held in Orleans County Jail in lieu of $5,000 bail. He was set to return to court in July 20.

 

On July 1, 2016, Holley Police arrested Vincent F. Vaccarelli, 28, of Brockport, for Criminal Trespass 2nd Degree - Entering and Remaining Unlawfully in a Dwelling. Vaccarelli turned himself in to answer the charge and was arraigned in Town of Murray Court in front of Judge Theodore Spada. Vaccarelli was released on his own recognizance with a return date of July 20. An order of protection was issued against him.

 

On July 8, 2016, Holley Police arrested Darlene M. Maciunski, 50, of Holley, for Harassment 2nd Degree - Physical Contact. Maciunski was issued an appearance ticket for arraignment in Town of Murray Court on July 29 in front of Judge Theodore Spada.
