It was “The Year of the Ram” in Niagara-Orleans varsity competition this past school year as Roy-Hart captured no less than seven league championships.

The Rams set the tone for the banner year in the fall by claiming the boys soccer, girls soccer and volleyball championships.

The titles were the second in a row for both soccer teams but was the first since 2009 for the volleyball squad.

The girls soccer team went on to capture its first ever sectional championship.

All three teams had the N-O Player of the Year including Kara Choate (girls soccer), Peter Martillotta (boys soccer) and Samantha Albright (volleyball).

During the winner season Roy-Hart made it three straight N-O boys swim championships as the Channel Cats shared the crown with Medina.

Ending a long drought the boys basketball team also captured its first N-O championship since the 1995-96 campaign. Rams senior Aiden Petrie earned N-O Player of the Year honors.

This spring Roy-Hart captured the N-O softball championship for the third time in the last four years.

The Roy-Hart baseball team earned its first N-O title since 2018 as the Rams shared the championship with Medina.

Both Rams diamond squads had the N-O Player of the year in Reanna Perkins and Thomas Russo.

Akron and Newfane each captured four N-O titles. The Tigers claimed the golf, field hockey, girls swimming and tennis titles while the Panthers claimed the boys and girls cross-country, wrestling and girls track championships.

Rounding out the list of champions Medina shared both the boys swim and baseball titles while Albion won the boys track crown and Wilson the girls basketball championship.
